HOW YOU CAN HELP

Elmira’s Wildlife Sanctuary is an equal opportunity charity…anyone can help! You probably know of someone now who has some latent talents or untapped resources just begging for the right opportunity to come along so they can be fulfilled. And that’s where you can help!

Memberships are available for a ‘bear’ minimum of $25 a year and since we are a non-profit corporation, your donation is tax-deductible. Whatever it takes to run a household, we need those same resources, from cash to pay the mortgage and electric bill to groceries to cleaning supplies. We post a regular Wish List with specific items in the newsletter and on the website; from dish soap at the dollar store to a front- end loading tractor, our range of needs cover a variety of budgets. The successful rescue of the 13 Horseshoe Creek Sanctuary animals in 2009 increased our need for food and supplements.

We also need more volunteers. Even a commitment to 4 hours a week would benefit our team. Some chores are ordinary and easy, others are more challenging, but every chore is a chance of a lifetime. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and ‘souly’ supported by private contributions. Anyone can ‘volunteer’ by participating at one or 2 of our regular fundraising events. Helping to feed the animals can be as easy as having a burger and fries and listening to some great ‘80’s tunes at Five Guys in Riverview every 4th Wed of the month between 5-8pm. (Just mention our namesake bear and they will donate 15% of your order back to Elmira!) Throw your own backyard BBQ benefit with a wildlife theme. Class projects, community service, yard sales etc., can all do double duty for a good cause. Many corporations have a policy for community/charity involvement. Does yours? Word of mouth is the best advertising so tell your family and friends about us.

We are not just an obscure P O Box in Wimauma, we are a vital facility on 7 acres in rural Manatee county, a mere minute out of Hillsborough; home to Casper the lion, 12 tigers, 5 bears and a total of 42 exotic animals. We have an incredible mission, and even though things are tight these days, we are asking for help with it. We thank you for your consideration.

Please consider Elmira's the next time you are ready to make a charitable contribution. Contributions can be sent directly to the sanctuary or to make a donation online, click the PayPal image below.

Donations are made through PayPal but you do not need
a PayPal account to donate. Any major credit card will work.
Thank you for helping us save these wonderful animals.

BENTLEY'S BUILDERS

If even a small percentage of our current membership were to consider a monthly pledge of $20 towards the new sanctuary property and cage construction we can begin moving and occupying those cages.

We don't have much opportunity to change the world, but we can change OUR world for the better.

It's a small sacrifice in the course of a monthly budget but collectively amounts to a powerful resource.

Please download and print the Bentley's Builders application form and mail it in TODAY!

MISSION STATEMENT

We provide continuing care, life management and enrichment to exotic and wild animals in need of a home. We also provide educational opportunities and programs, increasing community awareness of the needs of these animals. Elmira's is located near Tampa, Florida in a rural area on the Hillsborough/Manatee County line. We rely entirely on individual donations and have no paid employees.
